Photo Safaris in Florida
Are you a budding photography enthusiast, but still have a lot to learn about using your fancy new digital SLR? Or do you perhaps feel pretty comfortable with using your camera, but maybe you're in a bit of a creative rut and need a jump-start for your technique? Or are you even an established photographer that may have some tips for everyone, yet are vacationing here with us or new to the area and therefore unfamiliar with the best locations here in Central Florida to spot amazing wildlife, birds, secluded and little known areas with amazing scenery.
Depending on conditions and time of year, you can expect to spot alligators, bobcats, manatees, sea turtle nests and perhaps even a turtle or hatchlings, dolphins, beautiful secluded natural beaches, miles of protected marshlands and lagoons which provide perfect sanctuary for all manner of migratory birds, and especially year-round residents such as bald eagles and osprey, pelicans and all types of herons. Wildflowers, mangroves, clear bubbling springs, I could go on and on. Even the insect lovers will be pleased; you may also even spot our famous rainbow colored lubber grasshopper that is as big as your hand, and spiderwebs with their perfectly symmetrical design spanning distances you never would have imagined possible. And imagine the size of the spider that produces such a web! Our territory to cover is limitless and can be customized to your interests.
My photo safaris will consist of groups of 2-6 photography enthusiasts of all levels, the only prerequisites being a grand sense of adventure, a DSLR, a willingness to expand your horizons and improve your art through critique and instruction, and of course, sunscreen and bug spray.
The 2 or 3 day safari workshops will consist of daily outings and either nightly or a final morning critique. No sitting around in a conference room watching slideshows; I'll give instruction while we are on the go. Since the group sizes are small, you will receive plenty of personal attention and instruction directed right at your level of ability and comfort. After our adventures (which could start quite early in the morning), we will have time in the later afternoon to rest and regroup over dinner, and then perhaps a sunset session awaits as well, as the last golden light fades from the west over the lagoons. Depending on the length of the workshop and the itinerary for shooting (I follow mother nature's course throughout the year), each workshop will end up with a group slideshow and critique of your best work. In-between outings, you will have time to process your best images with my help in Photoshop, if needed, for the best results possible.

I encourage European travelers to join us as well; my German and French are passable and improving daily, so we'll manage just fine.
